Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) will take place at ITC Royal Bengalfrom September 12 to 15, 2019. This announcement was made at the monthly interactive meeting of the association that was held on July 10, 2019 at The Oberoi, New Delhi. The tentative theme of the convention will be based on Durga Puja and theinaugurationis scheduled for the evening of September 12 at the Convention Centre and the sessions will take place on September 13 and 14 at the ITC Royal Bengal respectively. “The hotels which we have collaborated withinclude ITC Sonar, The Gateway Hotel EM Bypass, Kolkata and the ibis Kolkata Rajarhat. We expect a good number of attendees this year as well. Post-convention tours are also being planned for day return, overnight and two nights- three days.” informedRajiv Mehra, Vice President, IATO.
The meeting yesterday alsodeliberatedupon the discussions regarding the neighbouringcountries they are eyeing for promoting outbound tourism with the support of foreign tourist boards, followed by the suggestions for the association to take a lead in organizing the current India Tourism roadshows with the support of MoT or scheduling the ones that are solely organised by the association aiming at promotion of India Tourism. In reply to the queries, IATO Office Bearers expressed their hopes of getting the issues addressed through the Ministry.
The meeting was also attended by IATO Hony. Secretary Rajesh Mudgil and Hony.Treasurer Ravi Gosain, among others.The association had invited S.C. Kamra, their GST Consultant to update the members on GST and clarify their doubts. He also spoke about the Union Budget 2019-2020 stressing upon the impact it will have on tourism sector.
