Launches non-stop flights from Delhi to Madrid thrice a week
National carrier Air India started off direct flights connecting Delhi to Madrid (Spain) on the state-of-the-art aircraft Boeing 787, with 18 seats in Business Class and 238 seats in Economy Class. Madrid is Air India's ninth destination in Europe.
Speaking at the launch, Pankaj Srivastava, Director-Commercial, Air India, said that the airline is keen on further expanding its operations to Europe.
“Air India would soon commence flights either to Stockholm (Sweden) or Copenhagen (Denmark) apart from tapping Kenya and Tanzania in Africa. We are exploring opportunity for a Hong Kong flight from Mumbai. Besides, the carrier will also be raising the frequency of Sydney and Melbourne flights and Mumbai-Shanghai flights to daily,” he added.
