Mr. Dinesh Malhotra, the Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh Tourism tete-e-tete with TravelScapes

“With spectacular snowy peaks and plunging river valleys, Himachal is India’s outdoor adventure playground”
Himachal Pradesh is one of the most beautiful state of the country after Kashmir Valley. The state is spread over from the height of 500 to 4000 metres which means from 1000 to 14000fts, is one of the most developed state in all aspects namely, it’s infrastructure, roadways, social infrastructure, literacy rate i.e., 85% of the people are literate and in respect to social safety we are on the top list. It is the most peaceful state and the USP of the state is its climatical conditions that is unmatched. It’s climate always ranges from 18° to 20° during summers and in winters definitely we get a snow fall, half of the areas  of himachal is snow covered.  It is the unmatched  beauty.

There are valleys like Kangra, and of course the world famous Manali Valley and that is about 80,000 tourist capacity with all the facilities  in the state.

Now coming to the the infrastructure, we have 81 properties in Himachal and all are with 3 to 4 stars facilities which is appreciated by the international tourists. Tourists coming from all the parts of India, from North to South or from East to West everybody appreciates the beauty of Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh receives the maximum number of tourist arrivals that is 69 lakh and the tourist population  in a year is around 1 crore 80 lakh which means 3 times of a population while the foreign tourist arrival in 2015 was of 6 lakh that accounts to being the well desired state that boast to be the most attractive destination in India. The state  state boast of some of the destinations like Kullu Manali, Kangra, Shimla, Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, Khajjiar which is called Mini Switzerland.

Every person should visit Himachal Pradesh and feel it’s aura at least once or twice in their life to experience the beauty of this place. Talking upon Leisure Tourism , I would say that Leisure Tourism defines an experience beyond purpose for an unseen or a frequently visited destination. It simply aims for travel meant to relax, explore and de-stress, either to a luxury destination or to peaceful abode. If you want to relax what you need, you will need a controlled climate condition and neat and clean environment. In Himachal Pradesh, anywhere you stand, you will find a tourist spot. Firstly because of the climate condition and secondly the vegetation. Also, you will be surprised to know that 66% of a geographical area is green like Shimla, even the metro city or we can say the big city like Shimla, which is a heart of the town. In my opinion, Himachal is just like a God’s own Garden. What we have in a garden, we create it here in Himachal, even if you drive anywhere in Himachal you will find the natural and untouched beauty.
Yes, roadways may not be very good but you enjoy the climate and that becomes the Leisure Tourism, and if you say that soothing effect of Himachal is  dust free and pollution free climate. The top priority for people here is hospitality. Here, people are very racial and humble. I would also add that Shimla city is a AC city, the city itself is a air conditioner that is for what Himachal is famous for.
