The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has embarked on a new partnership to enhance the training of new talent in the Indian travel industry.
A three-year tie-up with DY Patil University’s School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies in Navi Mumbai was signed on 2 December 2016, providing post-graduate training for students that have achieved an MSc degree in Hospitality & Tourism Studies.
Vandana Mishra Chaturvedi, Director of the School of Hospitality & Tourism Studies, penned the MOU with the Tourism Council’s chairman and treasurer, Jay Bhatia, on behalf of TAAI.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to have the support of such a renowned association like TAAI. This will give them excellent exposure to the world of travel, tourism and hospitality,” Chaturvedi said.
TAAI will now work with DY Patil University to develop an “industry-relevant” study programme for post-graduates. This will be offered in the form of a two-year course including internships and industry placements, in an effort to make sure the students are ready to enter the workplace.
