Global Panorama Showcase (GPS), the premiere trade show of Central India, was inaugurated in Nagpur this year in the month of January. In order to expand its domestic footprint this year besides the Nagpur edition, GPS also observed tremendous success from Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Pune and Kochi editions. The launch of EDWIN (Educational Destination Workshop- International) was announced and promoted at the events which involved the interested travel agents signing up to travel to a particular international destination
Aim of the EDWIN is to educate and empower the Travel agents from the Tier-2 & Tier -3 markets by giving them a first- hand experience of the destination as this would give them an exact idea of what they have been selling or would want to sell to their clients and whether this destination and the products and services experienced at the destination is suitable for their clients or not.
Harmandeep Singh Anand, Co Founder, GPS said, “We are open to work with all destinations irrespective of Domestic or International which are keen on promoting their products and destinations to agents from the Tier-2 & Tier – 3 Markets. We are currently organizing the first EDWIN to Ladakh region in association with Overland Escape and Ravine Trek. The other destinations in the pipeline are Bali in Indonesia and Malaysia and Star Cruise. The current trip to Ladakh the participants will be flown on board Vistara (Ex-Delhi). We have already tied up with Singapore Airlines / Silkair for EDWIN to Indonesia and Malaysia. For EDWIN – Ladakh the maximum attendance that we will be accepting is 50 for the current edition. We will try and give maximum exposure to the destination based on what it has to offer and as to what the DMC / Tourism Board is keen on showcasing and promoting at the destination.”
Anand also informs that the admission to EDWIN is strictly by invitation and is open to individuals who have attended any of the GPS events in 2017. According to the stats given by Anand, over 7000 professionals have attended GPS in 2017. “GPS currently has a following of over 15000 travel professionals PAN India and has a very strong presence through social media. Within 24 hours of the invitation we have received an overwhelming response of over 150 registrations and over 200 enquiries for the event. Post the tour all attendees would be issued Certificate as a Destination Specialist (EDWIN’S),” Anand ends on a positive note.
