Troy Haas, CEO of Brownell, has joined the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) as its newest member. With a legacy of innovation in luxury travel, aiming to advance sustainability and excellence in the travel and tourism industry.
According to a press statement by WTTC, Haas has decades of experience in luxury travel that will strengthen its vision for a sustainable and thriving global tourism industry.
The statement adds that under the leadership of Troy Haas, who joined Brownell in 1993 and rose to become Chairman & CEO, the agency and its advisors have shattered milestones and redefined luxury travel for hundreds of thousands of travellers.
“Troy carries forward the pioneering spirit that began with Walter Brownell nearly 140 years ago. His experience and leadership will be invaluable to WTTC as we continue to shape the future of Travel & Tourism,” said WTTC President & CEO Julia Simpson.

Before joining Brownell, Haas earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He spent several years at consulting firm Bain & Company where he worked in the travel and leisure industry and dreamed of the potential for an agency with a strong advisory community.
Haas then returned to Birmingham, Alabama, to become an owner of the then 100-year-old Brownells. Eager to transition to lead in a role that better aligned with his personality, passion for travel, and strengths in strategy, big-picture thinking, and networking, Haas has enjoyed an exiting 31-year run fulfilling his vision.
