Telangana is set to host the global beauty pageant, the 72nd Miss World pageant in May this year. The official announcement was made by Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of Miss World Limited, along with Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Youth Affairs Department.
According to the Miss World Organisation, the pageant will begin on May 4 and be spread over 28 days, with the grand opening and closing ceremonies scheduled to be held in Hyderabad. The itinerary includes other destinations in the state as well.
“The world’s most prestigious festival, Miss World, is set to return to India for its 72nd edition, with Telangana proudly hosting this global celebration of Beauty With a Purpose. I can’t wait for it to begin,” says Jasmine Stringer, Miss World Australia.
Citing Telangana’s reputation for safety, hospitality, and a thriving international ecosystem, the Miss World Organisation hailed the state as an ideal destination for both local and global visitors. Contestants will arrive on May 4, with the grand finale set for May 31, where reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszková will crown her successor.

Meanwhile, Ms. Sabharwal, underscored that the event would showcase Telangana’s handlooms, art forms, tourist destinations, and cuisine.
