The 40th IATO Annual Convention will be held from August 22 to 25, 2025 in Puri, Odisha. The host state, Odisha, is preparing to welcome the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and representatives from 15-18 states to the event, as confirmed by Rajiv Mehra, President of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO). The Swosti Premium Beach Resort in Puri will serve as the main venue for the convention, hosting all key activities, including registration, the inaugural ceremony, business sessions, and evening programmes. Partner hotels in the region, including Taj Puri Resort & Spa, ITC Fortune Beachfront, Mayfair Heritage & Mayfair Waves, Sterling, Regenta Central, and Empires Hotel, will accommodate delegates.

Rajiv Mehra shared that the theme of the convention and other logistical details are currently being finalised and will be announced shortly. Ravi Gosain, Vice President of IATO, mentioned that approximately 900 to 1,000 delegates from across India are expected to attend, including senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, state representatives, industry leaders, and tourism and hospitality professionals. Post-convention tours will also be organised to showcase Odisha to key tourism stakeholders, with plans to promote the state in both domestic and international markets.

Throughout the three-day event, business sessions will cover pressing issues within the tourism industry, with expert speakers scheduled. Additionally, the convention will feature the IATO Run for Responsible Tourism, where awards will be presented across various categories. Evening entertainment will be offered each day, providing delegates with a well-deserved break from the conference agenda. The IATO is also organising the Indian Tourism Fair (Travel Mart) on August 23 and 24 at the Swosti Premium Beach Resort, allowing delegates to interact with the state tourism departments and other exhibitors to foster collaboration and promote tourism. A Karaoke Singing Competition will also be part of one of the evening programmes.
