Sunil Kumar R, President of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), has been re-elected as the Global President of the United Federation of Travel Agents Associations (UFTAA). His leadership will steer UFTAA through its landmark Diamond Jubilee (1966–2026) during the 2025–2026 term.
UFTAA, headquartered in Monaco, is a global confederation representing the travel and tourism industry. Established in 1966, the organisation plays a key role in unifying travel agencies, promoting sustainable tourism, and advocating for industry interests worldwide.
The announcement was made at UFTAA’s Annual General Assembly on March 27, 2025, where the new board was elected. The board now comprises members from eleven countries, with key appointments including:
- Yossi Fatael (Israel) – VP Aviation & IATA Matters
- Cetin Gurcun (Turkey) – VP Tourism
- William D’Souza (Canada) – VP Finance
- Varsha Ramchurn (Mauritius) – Director
- Dr. Joseph Kithitu (Kenya) – Director
- Duminda Kuruwitaarchchi (Sri Lanka) – Director
- Joe Borg Oliver (Malta) – Director
- Mariegel Manotok (Philippines) – Director
- Moustafa Khataw (Tanzania) – Director
- Bernard Borry (Switzerland) – Director
